This page explains the cookies and similar storage Appaloo uses, what each one does, and how you can control them. We keep this to a minimum: the only non-essential tracking we use is website analytics, and it never runs until you opt in.

1. What we use

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We also use your browser's local storage to remember a couple of preferences on your device. Some of these are strictly necessary for the site to work; others are optional and only set with your consent.

2. Strictly necessary

These are required to sign you in and keep the site secure. They cannot be switched off.

Keeps you signed in to your Appaloo account. Set by us; expires when your session ends.

CSRF protection

Protects forms and requests against cross-site request forgery. Stored as part of your session.

3. Preferences

These are stored in your browser's local storage to remember your choices. They stay on your device and are never sent to a third party.

appaloo-cookie-consent

Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we don't ask again.

4. Analytics (optional)

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use Appaloo so we can improve it. The analytics script and its cookies are only loaded after you accept. If you decline, they are never set.

_ga, _ga_*

Set by Google Analytics to measure how the site is used (for example, pages visited and repeat visits). Loaded only after you accept analytics cookies.

Analytics data is processed by Google. We do not use it to identify you personally.

5. Managing your choices

You can accept or decline analytics cookies using the consent banner when you first visit. To change your mind later, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will appear again. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though disabling strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
